Review: Trader Joe’s Natural Shampoo & Conditioner
Trader Joe’s Refresh Shampoo & Conditioner
Since Trader Joe’s isn’t paying me to review their Refresh Citrus Shampoo and Conditioner, my review is totally unbiased. I promise.
I bought these bottles of shampoo and conditioner at Trader Joe’s for $1.99 each. I was motivated by a desire to use more natural soaps and avoid harmful chemicals, and the low price clinched the deal. I haven’t been able to make myself buy the $10 natural shampoos at the health food store in town, but $1.99 I could manage. Plus, the citrus smell was very endearing as I stood in the aisle debating the purchase.
The first time I used the shampoo, I have to admit I was a bit disappointed. My hair just didn’t feel as smooth as it does after i use regular shampoo laden with sodium laurel sulfate and gobs of chemicals.
However, after using the set for about a month, and only occasionally cheating by using an intense conditioner, I have to say I’m pretty pleased. Maybe my hair has gotten used to it and isn’t producing as much oils, or maybe I am just more used to the new results…who knows. But since my scalp seems healthier too I’m happy to keep using it.
On a scale of one to five, TJ’s Citrus Refresh shampoo & conditioner get a 4. While it can only be purchased in Trader Joe’s stores, you can find Nature’s Gate Herbal Shampoo on Amazon.
Do you use natural soaps and hair products? What’s your favorite?
